Andrew Derynck was a member of the Emerging Artist Program at Calgary Opera, where he premiered the role of the Father in Veronika Krausas’ Ghost Opera. He holds both an Opera diploma and Bachelors degree in voice performance from Wilfrid Laurier University. He has performed across Canada with companies such as: Brott Opera, Calgary Opera, Opera on the Avalon, Halifax Summer Opera and Highland Opera studio. He also took part in a workshop at Festival International de Música Clásica de Ribadeo in Spain.

 

Andrew caught the performing bug during his time at CKSS where he took part in the 5 musicals and the choir. He is excited to be joining the staff at Chatham Music Academy, where he will be able to share his knowledge with students from across the county and keep music education thriving in Chatham-Kent.
