Violin Instructor

Jennifer Trinca began her musical studies at the age of five when her parents noticed her playing songs by ear on their piano at home.  She continued to study piano, violin and music theory throughout her secondary years and also performed with the Detroit Youth Symphony and the Interlochen World Youth Symphony.  She received the silver medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music for her grade 10 violin exam and graduated at the top of her class, receiving the gold medal in music education, from The University of Western Ontario.

Jennifer began her string teaching career in Ottawa where her ensembles could be heard throughout the Nation’s Capital and on tours in England and Austria  She has been teaching with the SCCDSB since returning to Chatham in 2004.  Jennifer is passionate about building an authentic string and choral music program in Wallaceburg and her students have benefitted from the MusicCounts grant and the CK Partnership grants awarded to them.  Students have performed throughout the community in addition to being recognised as outstanding contributors in Canada’s greatest music class (CBC) and have been recommended to the Provincial level of the Kiwanis Music Festival five times.

Jennifer currently performs as concertmaster for the CK Chamber Orchestra and is often a featured soloist at St. Andrew's Saturdays at 7 concerts.  She is also a member of a Kitchen Ceilidh fiddle group and a newly formed Irish Band in Chatham.

Jennifer is very excited to be joining the impressive team at the Chatham Music Academy where she can share her excitement for quality music education with the next generation of violinists.
