Leanne Hessel, BMus
Piano, Voice & Cello Instructor
Leanne Hessel began piano lessons at the age of 6 and cello lessons at the age of 9. She earned an Honours Bachelor of Music in cello performance along with a minor in piano from Wilfrid Laurier University.
She is a highly sought after accompanist for Kiwanis Music Festivals, music exams as well as community choirs. She has accompanied many musical theatre productions over the years and is the accompanist for the Jubilee Chorus (formerly Laudate Dominum Choir) since returning to Chatham-Kent 13 years ago.
Leanne has been performing in orchestras and choirs for more than 25 years and has over 20 years of teaching experience. As an adult, she also resumed voice lessons and received one of the highest marks in Canada for her grade 9 RCM vocal examination. Leanne loves to share her musical knowledge with students and show others how much enjoyment music can add to their lives.
She is happy to be a part of Chatham Music Academy and excited to journey with her students through music.
