A life-long love of music and a passion for learning has placed Brian Blakeley in a unique position to offer instruction on a variety of instruments. He began performing as a professional musician since high school and had continued to play in the Chatham-Kent and Windsor area until completing college. After college,
Brian spent several years touring the United States and Canada in a number of successful entertainment projects. Upon his return to Chatham-Kent he worked for twenty-five years as a vocational instructor to people with mental and physical challenges.
Brian’s musical teaching career began at age fifteen when he began teaching at a local Chatham music store. He later taught in the Windsor area at a music store as well until completing his post-secondary education. Brian has been teaching music full-time in Chatham for the last fifteen years, carrying a teaching load averaging 45 to 50 students per week.
He has taught for The Royal Conservatory of Music’s, Learning Through the Art’s program in several elementary schools. He is excited to joining the staff at Chatham Music Academy for this new venture.
Brian has acquired skills in teaching violin, viola, cello, double bass, mandolin, banjo, accordion, piano, guitar, ukulele, clarinet, saxophone, bagpipes, recorder, drums and hand percussions, harmonica, autoharp and tin whistle.
Brian believes that music should, first and foremost, be fun and offers lessons for all ages and learning abilities.
