Courtney Wells

Voice/Acting Instructor

Courtney is an Actra, and Equity member who has spent significant time working professionally in various artistic mediums. Although Classically trained, her devotion is to the sounds of Jazz, Pop, Soul, Rock, and Theatre. Courtney brings with her experience in voice as a Professional Vocalist, Recording Artist, and Vocal Instructor.Courtney is experienced in live performance of various genres, and in pursuing the music industry as an Artist. She is a FACTOR grant recipient and has worked with EMI, and Universal Music Canada in studio with two studio albums to her credit. She has performed in various entertainment bands based locally (Jessika Rabbit), and projects based in Toronto (Courtney Wells Band). She has also worked as a Tribute Act (Amy Winehouse/ Patsy Cline/Pink Floyd)combining her love of music and theatre. 

Courtney has extensively worked as an Actor in live theatre preforming in musicals, and contemporary theatre (Wizard of Oz, Annie, Sound of Music, Les Belles Soeurs, Steel Magnolias). She has also worked professionally in film and television (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Curse of Iron Mask)and is excited to share her knowledge of the industry with her students with professional aspirations. 

Additional to her onstage credits, she has worked professionally in voice-over work, radio, as a DJ (DJ Vintage), and as an award-winning Director, and Stage Manager. She feels her experience both onstage, and behind the scenes has contributed to her well-rounded love for music, and acting.

Through her various facets of experience, she enjoys working with children and adults to teach them the fundamentals of music while exposing them to various genres. Doing so empowers her students to think critically while honing their craft, individually realizing their potential, and identify their direction artistically.
